FESTIVE OPENING OF SVIADNOV BIOMASS POWER PLANT
THE FESTIVE OPENING OF the biomass power plant operation took place on the premises of the Frýdek-Místek heat & power plant at Sviadnov on 11th June 2013.
The wood-chip fired biomass power plant was supplied by EKOL on an EPC basis.
The power plant produces electricity and heat for the central heat supply system of the town of Frýdek-Místek. The project investor is EnergoFuture Ostrava, the owner is DALKIA ČR. This highly efficient source will enable reducing the consumption of bituminous coal in the Frýdek-Místek heat & power plant by 18000 tons per year and consequently the quantity of carbon oxide emissions to the atmosphere by more than 40 thousand tons per year.
The core of the biomass power plant is an EKOL RKF26 steam boiler and an EKOL 5.8MWe back-pressure steam turbine.
